Each session lasts for a period of 50min, and usually takes place once a week. Therapy will continue for several weeks, months or years depending on different factors, you can always ask your therapist about this.
In times of crisis or heightened need, extra sessions can be scheduled.

Life happens. If appointments are cancelled 48 hours before the appointment there will be no charge. If the appointment was cancelled in the last 48 hours before the appointment then it will be charged since it may not be feasible to offer it to someone else at this point.

Therapy is a total confidential space and that includes your personal information but also what you share with your therapist during the sessions. However, the therapist has ethical and legal responsibilities, such as the Child Protection Act that protects the rights and welfare of children. Your therapist will discuss this with you during your initisal session.

Psychologists use methods such as CBT to help people better manage their mental health. Some counsellors may use these methods too, but more often encourage clients to find their own methods for managing their emotions, while providing the support they need.
Counseling tends to be shorter term, goal-oriented, and it addresses concrete, specific life challenges. By contrast, therapy with a psychologist tends to be longer term, more exploratory and holistic, and it treats mental illness.
